chicken is acting weird

does any one know whats wrong with my chicken this morning he was just moping in the coop and making strange noises with his beak hanging open like he has something stuck in his throat i tried rubbing his neck but its not helping and he's acting like he has no energy an to make matters worse he sounds like he's choking occasionally

How hot is it where you are? Can you bring him inside into the cool?

its fairly cool here at the moment but it was around 110 degrees yesterday but all the other chickens are fine its just this 1

Infectious Laryngotracheitis or gapeworms, not sure.

Not all chickens have the same problems with the heat. Bring him in if you can, or get him into the cool. Check for discharge from eyes and nose. How are his droppings?

Give him some cold water with vitamins/electrolytes. Is this the first time that you have heard him do this? What do his wattles/comb look like?

I'm not sure how you can make these kind of diagnoses with the information provided. Gapeworm is very uncommon and not seen very often. IL is highly contagious and only one of her/his chickens appear to have any symptoms.

Not diagnoses, just try to provide some options. I wish they're not misleading.

Gapeworm is found in earthworms and the worms are ingested by the chicken. The worms take hold in the throat where they will choke the chicken to death. The other is a highly contagious respiratory illness.

Search on here for both. Gapeworm can be cured with medication. If I'm correct in saying, you can use a qtip and find the worms. IL can be diagnosed through a throat swab.
