Hi, I'm back again. One of my chickens, an Easter Egger mix that's about 18 weeks and named Seven of Nine, is not doing good. She's behaving strangely for herself; moving slowly, was stuck briefly on her side when I came out, has her wings drooped like shields, and looks to be having trouble eating pellet food.

This just started, she was perfectly fine, or so she seemed, yesterday and this morning. The issue is that I ran out of feed on Tuesday, with like a little bit left yesterday, and wasn't able to get any until today. I was feeding them scraps I knew were safe for them, to help them supplement their diet until today (chicken, clovers from the yard, dandelions, cored apples in moderation, grass).

Help? I cannot let this chicken die, my youngest would be heartbroken— and so would my husband and I.

Are all of the other chickens doing well today? How does her crop feel—empty and flat, full, firm or squishy? What do her poops look like? Could she be egg bound? Do you have any calcium tablets or Tums? I would give her one into her beak to swallow in case she is having trouble laying an egg. Offer some water to her beak. Do they have granite poultry grit available to help the gizzard grind up foods and grasses? Did she get any of the apple seeds?
