Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my rooster and I thank everyone for the help.
2 weeks ago I introduced 3 young hens to my current flock. 2 New Hampshires rooster and a hen. (2.5 years old).
Unfortunately while I was in work my old hen has passed 4 days ago without much signs. I blamed myself for not providing electrolytes in this hot weather.
The chickens are free ranged and has alot of shade areas throughout the yard.
This morning my old rooster did not crow at all. I opened the coop and he was very lethargic. I brought him inside and had to feed him. He would not eat on his own. I gave him water, apple cider vinegar, some cut up grapes..
He seems a little better from the morning, but he still is lethargic and sometimes stands with his eyes closed.
His dropping are watery with a green tint. I am keeping him inside for the night away from the heat.
I am researching and realizing I made a big mistake introducing new hens without quarantine.(which may have been the reason for my hen to get sick?)
I was thinking of cocchidiosis? From the new hens?
Would I need to get some Corid?
Thank You for the help everyone.
