Hi there my chicken has not been well for the past few days, she has been cooped up in the pen for a while, the others are energetic but she will not move! She will usually have some water, but she will just stay there In one spot, she hasn't been eating as she looks very lethargic, she keeps closing her eyes, we haven't saw her do a poo, but we noticed this morning she eat one of her eggs which she has not done before, what could be the problem?

Is she lethargic ? Is her feathers ruffled? Does she seem extra sleepy? These can be signs of coccidosis. Cocci can be present without bloody stool depending on the strain. Older chickens can get cocci if they are exposed to a new strain that they are not immune to.if you have thourally checked her and her breathing is fine no cough or mucus her crop is emptying fine no egg binding its possible she might have a case of cocci.if all other possibility check out normal she could have coccidosis. You would treat cocci with corid also known as amprolium. It kills all 9 strains of cocci. So if you have checked and she has no other symptoms other than lethergie and sleepiness than its possible she might have coccidosis. Look up coccidosis kepping in mind not all cases involve bloody poo and look at the symptoms and see if the symptoms match your bird.if you agree that the symptoms match then you can begin treatment. I wish you the best
