Chicken island

Hello!

I’m a newbie to BYC and I’ve been reading and reading and reading as I incubated my first batch of araucanas- and on Friday welcomed 3 babies (out of 5 possibles).

I live on a Scottish island and our only predator is otters, so I need to keep an eye on them!

I can see this hobby becoming very very addictive.

Great to be here and ready to learn from all you experts!

The good thing about the otters is that they’re enormous - the dog otters are literally the size of my dog - and he’s not squeezing through the bars anytime soon!

This is Fred, my first born. I have absolutely zip idea, but he was first out and running around like a lunatic - decidedly chatty and pushed the other 2 about - so sounds male to me.

Pippa is more great and Zippy is hiding.
