Chirping
We have an older chicken, not sure how old since we got her from someone with no idea how old she was. We went out this morning and she was lying on her side, spasming, mostly her neck. I mean, she was turning it completely one way and then back. She seemed to be almost paralyzed. I did not get any video because I didn’t have my phone with me.
I brought her in and held her, thinking she was dying or we would have to kill her. Once she was in, she started acting a little better. I gave her a little water and she started wanting to get up. She walked around a little bit, which is the first video, and was still jerking her head a lot. I gave her some blueberries and a scrambled egg, which is the second video. Her head was jerking still a little. I think she’s almost back to normal, but what could that have been? It was only 10:30 when we found her, so shouldn’t have been heat.
Oh, ugh, file is too large. How do I fix that? Or does have any ideas of what this could be and what I should do next? They have probiotics and electrolytes in their water and plenty of shade. My hubby is in the process of making a retirement coop for her and another chicken. This one has an obvious cataract in one eye and the rooster picks on her.
