Chicken jungle gym

Got bored tonight and decided to make a chicken jungle gym. As I used only 2x2's, it probably wouldn't hold up to huge birds jumping all over it....however it is going into my "growout pen" where it will just have "teenagers" all over it.

And it did.

I took this picture within 30 seconds of setting this down in the pen.

That is great!! I've been trying to figure out how to make one using landscape timbers!!

They have landscaping timbers on sale at Home Depot right now.....I am going to pick up a few (or more, ha) and make a similar structure for my yard for my "big birds". I have a pile of leftover lumbar on a pallet that they love to hang out on. I had to make the teenager one a triangle as it is on a hill and needed to stand up on its own. I will make the others just a half......like a ladder....

FYI , all lengths of above boards are 4 feet.....makes it nice and easy, just cut the 8 footers right in half. I did use two "scraps" leftover from something else, for the "side braces".....those are about 3 feet long instead.

For the whopping $12 it cost to make, I'd say it was worth it.

I saw one of these on a website that I was looking at that made their coop from a camper (we are too) and they made it REALLY tall and that way it helped to hold up their netting on top, and I hope to do that here!

I love that design and the fact that it doesnt cost a fortune
