So I've been reading about the cleanest, simplest, and most humane way to kill meaties for processing, and I'm wonder if I've come up with a good idea.
Got the idea to get some non-stretch fabric, like muslin (or even a premade muslin bag), add a drawstring at the open end and a small hole for the chicken's head at the other end. Also on the bag, right around the center on either side, would be velcro. The idea is to put the chicken into the sack head first with head coming out of the hole, secure the velcro around the body to hold the wings down, then quickly lop the head off with an axe or sharp knife. The velcro would hopefully cut down/prevent flopping; the drawstring would make it easy to secure the bird in the bag and hang it from an object for bleeding out.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this either way? Any suggestions for improvement? Thanks in advance
