Hi,

Could you all give me a ballpark for how steep of an angle a chicken ladder should or shouldn't be?

Also, between the rungs or little trim pieces on the boardwalk how many inches is good?

Thanks in Advance!

It reeeeeaaaallly doesn't matter much

I wouldn't go steeper than 60 degrees or so, 45 is lots better. They will hop, not walk, from one rung to the other so as long as they're not like four feet apart

the spacing isn't especially important. If you're worried, make 'em closer together.

Really chickens can cope with almost any ladder/ramp/step setup you provide

Have fun,

I built mine about a 45 degree angle and about 16-18 inches between rungs. They roost on them at night and you want sufficient room for them to sit or stand on the rung, and not be bothered by the birds above. for my guineas, 2 feet is too close as they like to threaten each other,m and the length of their neck has to be considered. Also if they roost above one another, they eliminate at night, so the more angle you have, the better so they don't poop on each other. HTH Janet
