Hello, backyard chicken friends!
I have an approximately 1 year old Ancona who has seemed in good health and weight for the last couple months since I got her.
This morning, I went out to the coop and discovered an odd orange-ish clump underneath her roosting spot:
Since this past Saturday (4/9), she's been having odd poops‚ mostly urate and small pieces of fecal matter, but not in the same quantities that she used to. She had a really poopy butt yesterday, so I gave her a bath and checked her vent for a bound egg, but she seemed clear. She's been eating and drinking well (mostly feed, but also supplementing with some warm oatmeal and scrambled eggs for her health), so it doesn't seem like she's lost her appetite. None of the other three girls I have seem to have any issues.
I'm very new to chickens, so I'm not even sure where to start! From a quick Google search, it seems like this might be a lash egg? Any other ideas or recommendations if this is salpingitis?
