chicken laying down funny

Hi! My 7 week old chickens will sometimes lay on there side with their wings stretched across their body when they are outside. I'm not worried but I just want to know why. Maybe it has to do with blocking the sun? It looks pretty funny Thanks!

What is your climate? They could just be hot

Our ten pullets would do it together.

They still do it, but typically dust bathe at same time.

They're sunbathing. My birds enjoy doing that.

Either way it likely is normal, nothing to worry about. My CX do it a lot. On a side, stretch leg straight, and sometimes stretch wing. Probably mouth breathing too. I think its because they are hot.
The other suggestions are good too.

If they are doing it in the shade they are just hot. Might try to give them some frozen fruit. Mine love watermelon and tomatoes.

If they are doing it out in the sun then yeah sunbathing and just being a normal chicken.
