Hello all. Thank you for your responses. Turns out, she was not sick. She was dying-from internal wounds caused by swallowing two 2.5" long screws and an open safety pin! Apparently she had found some I missed on the ground when we let them out to roam two days ago, somehow managed to swallow them, and the vet had to euthanize her. My girls are devastated and have been crying off and on all day. My flock now numbers 11, and to top it off, she was my eldest's handpicked favorite to keep into retirement

Of all the things...the vet said that she certainly never expected what she saw on the x-ray, and we are all completely flabbergasted that she managed to even swallow them in the first place

Oh no, so sorry. I am so glad that you took her in for the xrays. At least you now know what caused her illness. Chickens can eat anything they find on the ground. I ammconstantly finding things in their area to pick up. So sorry for your loss.
