Chicken Lice

Hello, my friends dad got new chickens and they got lice and he has been using diatomaceous earth for over a week and cleaned the coop. How can I get rid of the lice?? Please help!!

DE just isn't going to do the job. You are going to need something stronger with probably permethrin or spinosad in it. Here is a link to an article on lice/mites, scroll down and just below the lice section is suggested treatments, so you can look to see what you have available where you are.

I use the spray they make to keep flies off horses works very well...permethrin is the main ingredient. Has instructions how to use for chickens...
