Hello so I’ve had my chickens for about two years and I’ve never had any problems with lice or mites or anything and now I’ve run into a problem with chicken lice!! My coop is infested with chicken legs and my chickens have a ton of eggs on them and I don’t know what to do!! Was told to use premethrin on them but my question is can I use any spray on them with this insecticide in it, my tractor supply store has boss pour on product that I can get!!

Yes you can spray permethrin directly on the birds. I get permethrin at my TSC. It works but does not kill the pests eggs so weekly repeat treatments are necessary to kill the pests as they hatch out for 3 or 4 weekly treatments. You can buy the concentrate too. I also use poultry dust in the nest boxes. There is no egg withdrawal period so the eggs are safe to eat. Good luck...
