My hen had been losing feathers so I checked her out and could see tiny white bugs crawling on her. I treated her, my other hen and my rooster on Wednesday with sevin on them and in their run/coop. However, I am still noticing today they are all still scratching. Should I try elector PSP? Or wait the week and retreat with sevin?
You can use a Permethrin based poultry dust or Elector PSP, both should treat lice.Yes, I put it on their feathers and then would rub it in down to their skin, I made sure I put some under their wings, around their vents, and turned them on their backs and put some on their chests/stomachs. I think part of the issue is, their silkies and don’t take dust baths in their dust bath area. They will bathe in the sand and will also go bathe in our bark in our flower beds… I even, these last couple of days have set up a corral type area in the dirt hoping they would take a dust bath but no such luck.. they just stand in there
