I noticed my Welsummer was limping. Here left foot is swollen and she has lost the pinkness to her foot leg...it looks green. (See pic and compare legs) I looked her over and didn't see any signs of bumble foot. Could it be frost bite? Any ideas? She's out and about and acting normal. Just limping and holding her foot up.

I'm not familiar with frost bite, as I don't get enough cold to incur that.

But it could be a bruise. Do you have any rat snap traps about the place?

I had a hen step in a trap, bruise, limp for a week, and then was fine.

Can she move those toes? Is there any smell? Gangrene would smell. Is there anything wound around the leg higher up, such as twine, hair, or such?

She may have broke her toe. Touch it gently and see if she acts like she is in pain. Gently feel her toes to and compare to that one to see if you feel anything broken.

I went out and inspected her again when she was on her roost. Her foot was wrapped around the roost, so yes, she can bend her toes. Her middle round pad on the bottom of her foot seemed to be the most sore, and the sore spot was bigger than the other foot. I washed her foot off with a warm soapy washcloth and see nothing. No spots or anything? Both of her feet were warm, and the coloring looked better than when I took the pictures.

No traps or anything. It may be a bruised toe. I will double check her more tomorrow. Thank you!

What happened with this, my Welsummer has the same symptoms, it’s not Bumblefoot, she is limping. I need to know how to treat her.
Hi! Welcome to BYC.
So sorry to hear your bird isn't well.
Is that all that is wrong with her?
Could you post some pictures?
Where do you live, how cold is it?
For the roost, is it a flat piece of wood or a round pole like roost?
