chicken limping with red welt on leg

My pullet started limping a week ago. She seems happy other than the limp. At first nothing seemed visibly wrong, but now I have noticed a red welt on her upper leg the size of my pinky fingernail (see image). Any ideas what this is and how to treat it?

She may have sprained or injured her leg. Can you see any greenish tint to any areas, this would indicate bruising.

Not sure what the red area is, perhaps she rubbed or injured it. I would keep watch on that and see if it gets better in a few days.
