Hi everyone,
I’m a mom of 4 Rhode Island Red Chickens and 4 mixed breed ducks
So my husband and I were away this past weekend and yesterday we noticed one of our chickens has lost a lot of feathers in different areas around her body. On her neck you can see a bunch of pinfeathers. This morning we examined her for mites. She was running and screaming while we were trying to pick her up. The chickens don’t really like to be handled but this was very extreme compared to how they normally are. When we did finally pick her up we could not visibly see any mites. Does anyone have any idea of what this would be? Could it just be a mini molt. The chickens are 8 months old
