Predation is sadly a very real part of chicken keeping. I'm sorry you lost your chick. In addition to learning how to secure your coop/run, I would seriously consider trying to get at least two more chicks for her, if not 3-4 (and of course ensure you have enough space to accommodate them all. That way if/when one is lost for whatever reason, the remaining flock members still have each other.

predators are brutal. If you can't make this remaining chick a house chicken, you will need to find her a friend, chickens are very flock oriented and need companionship. Are there any feed stores nearby that sell chicks? Take good care of the survivor.
