Chicken Lover!!

Hi My name is Karen and I LOVE my chickens and they love me.lol They are spoiled just like any cat, dog or rabbit.lol They like to be carried and patted and are bread junkies. They follow me everywhere I go from the backyard to the mailbox. Last month I decided to build my homemade incubator and have made the attempt to hatch a few. Not because my flock of 19 needs to grow, but because I thought it would be amazing. It HAS been - happiness and sadness as I've watched them grow, and have lost a few along the way. Next weekend is our "due date" and I cannot wait for that first pip of my first grandchicken!

Glad you could join the flock! Incubating and hatching is a great experience and something I enjoy very much too. There really is nothing like watching the new life emerge from the egg into the world. Truly is an amazing experience to watch. Thank you everyone. I am so nervous and excited.lol Tomorrow is Day 18... no more turning. Does anyone else talk to their eggs or I have just totally lost my marbles at this point?? I cannot WAIT for them to hatch. I am down to 4 eggs from my original 12. Two were really smelly that I was concerned about and I took them out yesterday. Hope to be posting pictures in a few days!!!!
