Hi, I have acquired two full grown "pet" chickens, which I love dearly. I am 72 and care for them in my backyard.
I came to this website to find out why one of my chicken is losing feathers around her neck. She use to be
very fluffy, but now seems much thinner. I live in the AZ desert and try to keep them cool, which seems
to be working. I fee them lots of greens.

Howdy there! Can you post a photo? Do the two chickens get along, or is one perhaps picking on the other? If one is feather picking it can be a sign of lack of protein, feed them more protein to solve this issue. Give them scrambled eggs, tuna, cat food, etc. And buy some feed with higher protein like "All Flock" or even "Chick Finisher"!

Welcome to Backyard Chickens .. Birds molt loosing many feathers they are not able to lay at this time either .. Might be good to watch craigs list in your area
for sigle birds they might be happier with three also
