Oh, and how long does gapeworm take before it ends up killing the chicken? I don't know, it just doesn't seem like she's gasping for air, and she eats fine, so it's just weird.

One of my hens just started doing this today and I Googled chicken with hiccup noises. I wonder what it is!? My hens are kept outside in a large coop and run. She is about 7 months old so I am stymied as to what this is. If you find out, please let me know. Thanks and good luck! (If I find out any more, I will let you know as well). Take care.Hi, my hen has actually been making this noise for a while now. Usually it's not every day- maybe 4 or 5 times out of the week though. Most of the time this lasts for a really long time, practically the whole day. I have a link to a video of her doing this. She'll do it, won't for a minute or so, then will start back up again. I've been reading about gapeworm, but I'm not really sure it that's what it is.
Skip to around 20 seconds, and once it's around 40 she's pretty much done for that segment. But it can get really loud to the point where I'm in my room upstairs and I can hear her outside. Please Help!!
One of my hens has the same thing. Just started "hiccupping" today. I will let you know if I find anything helpful on the subject.Dear xanggex,
I am wondering how your hen is doing and whether you have any updates on the subject. I have a hen behaving in much the same way as what you've described. Your experience might be very helpful as I move forward.
With gratitude
