Welcome to byc! EE are great! I'm in Louisiana as well and my EE have done very well here. Mine have been very consistent layers in the hot summers and in the winter months. We just purchased a house in Louisiana with some acreage and I have always wanted chickens. Before I actually purchase the chicks, I want do as much research as I can. Many of the reference sites mentioned this forum, so here I am.

Hubby and I are retired, all kids grown, no chickens yet. I will probably look to start my flock in the spring
