Hi Everyone! Chicken Mama from NC... we've had our flock since 2017 starting with 3 Swedish Flower hens a Buff Orpington (that we thought was a hen until she crowed!
) and a Wyandotte Roo named Wyatt of course! We added 9 more girls last year, 2 Black Australorps, 2 Buff Orphingtons, 4 Easter Eggers and classic small white hen that I'm not really sure what breed she is. We took her in trade for Buffy that turned out to be a Rooster and started fighting with Wyatt. I just knew one day they would hurt each other and luckily we had someone who was starting their flock and loved him 
Now he has his own flock of girls and no competing Rooster. I found this site with google searches of my many questions and finally decided to join! I just lost one of our Buffs this weekend to vent gleet and its devastating. Our first loss. 
She was beautiful and her name was Henrietta. 
That's what initially brought me here today to ask questions about what happened to her.
We also added 5 ducks to our managerie last year. 4 Khaki Campbell hens and a Swedish Black drake. I had read that they would be happy living together but the drake injured one of my chicken girls back trying to mate with her so we separated them. My husband built them a pool and everything! They are happy little babies. My grand daughter has a little egg business. We sell chicken and duck eggs to friends and neighbors. Great learning experience for her and we don't have eggs stacking up! We love our little feathered friends and enjoy them so much! Looking forward to reading about your flock and learning more about keeping chicks
