We call it "Chicken TV". Folks who don't have chickens don't understand. They're like: "Yeah, but they're just walking around pecking the ground and not really doing anything interesting." Us: "Oh look, Natasha just stood up to Coraline! Look at Mahogany! Isn't she pretty? Oh, the young girls got up on the big girl roost!" "Look at Carl....he's going to crow, I know he is."Oh! I forgot to mention, I posted this thread in hopes that others might share stories of chicken time in action!

Yeah, people who are chicken-less just don't get it.
Training is doable once you've established a personal relationship. Even with strong prey drive, they can be taught WHAT to hunt.Both dogs have an incredible prey drive, so I won’t be able to let them into the yard off leash once our chicks move to the coop. They will chase the flock from the outside of the run and stress them.
