Chicken math

Well, I still haven't purchased any more chicks, and I'm not sure if I should do what I just got my wife to say "okay" to...
That cackle hatchery surprise is mine for the taking, all I had to do was promise to try and give away/sell half of them. Also, she gets to pick whichever ones she wants for the normal laying flock. And no eating the ones with names lol. I'm still not sure if I would be sleeping in the brooder with them if I actually do it.
Some hard thinking to do tonight! Why is this math so hard? Stupid variables!

Stay the course!!! You have PERMISSION!!!! How ?how ?how? Im STILL hiding my " MATH PROBLEMS " from the DW. I told her ALLLLLL I wanted for fathers day was a 200 watt ceramic personal heater from wally world.... Probably should have waited till winter. But I'm wanting to get started on an incubator. He he he SHE KNOWS SOMETHING IS UP!! When she asked what it was for I told her so i don't get cold. Had to stay outside mowing after that.lol

How do you say this with a straight face? Is there an online tutorial or was there a teacher in a classroom??

I sold 2 pullets today. I needed to sell many more. I took 13 of them to a bird swap.
I dislike subtraction a lot.

lol not really room for more. I have 43 and the coop can hold 28 the run is built for 30 so I have to do more subtraction.
Most are young still so are not having attitude problems.

My hopes and dreams have been dashed :( upon discovery of the local chicken ordinances, my flock must be limited to 11, including two roosters. Despite my 2.5 acres to range them on, I can only have 11?! If I branch out into other fowl, I could keep 11 of each up to a grand total of 54 birds.
I am in an unincorporated area, but the city that's just a mile away would allow 150 chickens on the same size lot.
So sad!
As a consolation prize, I went and got (only) 6 chicks from the local feed store. Technically I plan to remove 5 of my existing cockerels, so that will give me just the "right" number of chickens.

I am so sorry. The "rules" sometimes are senseless.

Thinking maybe moving to the city in your case would be the way to go.
