You are not the only one who does A,B,C,D,B,E,F over and over lol.
I am getting a better brooder box from my work, it's one of those giant bins you get watermelons out of at the store. It would be a shame to let it go unused all the time :D
I have to get foot surgery next week, and I'm gonna have to sit on my bum for 3 weeks. I figure I'll set up my reclining pool chair in the chicken run and just chill with them lol.
And it's hotter than heck here too, just lacking the humidity. Maybe I'll set up a mister system for "me"!

I hope you are not having to work outside at your job. I think that would be very difficult after the heat exhaustion.

I got the little hoop coop all hardware clothed in.

It is short at only 4 and a half feet tall. I had to get inside to do some of it lol. That is a picture no one should ever see. Me, at my age, crawling carefully into a chicken run with 6 chickens in it to do some wiring. Bear in mind there is chickens so there is poo. Carefully is an understatement on avoiding the poo and crouching not sitting is hard to do being my age.

Not only am i outside. Im in the middle of a Coker Unit in the middle of exon Mobil. Picture two city blocks with 60 ft tall gas furnaces RUNNING in July.
And I admire your can do determination.

I think that two city blocks and the gas furnaces makes that kind of a really awful place to be in July for sure.

DH says I am nuts for worrying about the chickens. He does understand that I would be beside myself if I went out and found only pieces of them because I did not take proper precautions.

Next year I think I want to get some cream legbar hatching eggs and see if my silly bantams will hatch anything out.

I started out with 4 EE's and 2 PR's. All should have been pullets but I ended up with 1 PR roo. They are all now about 18 wks old.
After they were old enough to go outside, I started to get empty brooder sickness....and Meyer hatchery is only an hour away....so....welcome home 4 random straight run bantams. They were SO cute and little and they won't take up much room, right!? Now up to 10 total chickens.
Well, they turned out to be 1 EEB roo, 2 mottled Cochin Bantam roos, and 1 white fluffy beautiful silkie pullet. As I already have my PR roo that I have now completely become attached to, the 3 bantam roos are eventually going to become little roasted mouthfuls of goodness.
That leaves me with 6 hens and 1 roo. As I was willing to house, feed and love 10 and am now down to 7, it is completely understandable that I should want to replace the 3 mouthfuls of goodness...right ?!
I have an order placed for pickup on July 7th for 1 BLR wyandotte, 1 GL wyandotte, 1 SS, and 1 Welsummer, all pullet LF.
Will be up to 11 total. *sigh* I just wanted some yummy eggs. LOL
