This afternoon I came out to find one of my new RIRs injured. I have her and the suspected culprit isolated separately but not sure what I should do withe the injured girl! It seems to rash to just cull her, she is standing up and walks around a bit but just seems dazed. Any thoughts or instructions would be gratefully welcomed. Thanks!!

Wow poor baby....what happened?? I agree with the above post. Make sure she is eating and drinking. I have heard the vetrycin spray is good to clean wounds with if you have any or can get some. Then apply the antibiotic ointment. Hope she pulls through. Keep us updated.

Is she eating and drinking? That will give you an indication of how she will do. Isolate her in a comfortable area, provide food and water. I went through this recently with two chickens. One died, had little fight from the beginning. The other seems pretty normal, other than the lack of scalp and neck skin.

I sprayed some BluKote on and that's about it. She healed quite well, just a little Chicken of the Opera looking because of scarring lifting her eyelid.

Could you try to gently clean off the wound and post a new picture so we can see what skin is actually gone and what was just matted blood? Are either of her eyes appearing to be damaged?
Like the others said, you're going to want to keep her separate and comfortable.

Her right eye seems swollen shut but intact as far as I can tell, will get another pic up ASAP. Thanks

She started to have breathing issues and sputum coming out of her mouth, as well as maggots every where and her skin around the base of her neck was inflating when she breathed. I decided to cull her... Thanks for your help:/
