My 3-year-old daughter named the dominiques Fifi and Dandelion.

Our BR's are named Lady Guinevere and Georgia (though my boyfriend calls her George because he's so outnumbered. The dog, horses and chickens are all female, plus me and our daughter).

Just to add, My sister's kids name all of there animals after spices and gems. Like The mama name diamond, had a few babies name Jade, and quarts, etc. Another mama was sage, all her babies were named Basil, Parsley, etc. Its a nice way to keep track of who belongs with what group. Not that this is a chat about Goats but, she had a baby goat born with a wierd leg, she put a splint on it and named her Peggy! lol.

I have Ameracaunas.

1st batch (from last spring):

Blondie Road Runner-Had a totally blond head until her permanent feathers came in BLACK. Looked like a velociraptor and a road runner had a baby. (RIP)

Bertha-Biggest, bossiest of the group (RIP)

Goldie-Tried to "dress up" the name as "Gilda", but Goldie stuck. Copper penny colored.

Henrietta/Henny Penny-was the first to look like a real chicken. She looks classic chicken.

Hawk-Looks like a small hawk

Fuzzy (aka Fuzz Butt)-Her feathers grew in fuzzy. She was the size and coloring of a typical Ameracauna, slate legs, turquiose eggs, but Silkie feathers. She was a mystery, as was her death last Tuesday:( (RIP)

Rooster adopted last fall:

Elvis-Came to us named "King Xenophon", a very dignified, but long name. He was King, for short. He is mostly white with lovely black and green spangling. Drop dead gorgeous. Elvis struts around in his bright spangly pant suit, wooing all the ladies in his sexy, gentlemanly way. Even non-chicken-lovers have to stare and admit he's drop dead sexy!

2nd batch (from this spring):

Ursula-Looked like a little teddy bear chick. Was huge and fuzzy. Ursa means bear.

Marigold-Light orange and yellow, now with some light grey. Honks like a goose.

(Screaming) Mimi (aka Zippy the Pin Head)-
constant shreaking peeps from the day she came home. Was teeny tiny compared to others, until recently. She has the tiniest head, no muffs or beard. Based on some very odd behaviors, we think she may be a little "special". (DH wanted to name her "Ed", as in "Special Ed".)

Frigga-Largest, darkest, looks like an eagle. "Thorondor" (Tolkein's King of the Eagles) was a little too heavy a name for a pullet. Frigga is the Norse goddess of the sky.

Eos-Greek goddess of dawn
Aurora-Roman goddess of dawn
These two are almost identical. I can remember Eos is the smaller of the two, because the name is shorter.

Rock Steady and BeeBob- what my boyfriend named our very new little pair of WC Black Polish chicks
Birdzilla- Pullet (as purchased from Feedstore) turned out to be rooster, Very colorful Yellow and wheat colored Aeracauna, was always the biggest of the 4 "pullets" now we know why:) Also claimed by my boyfriend
Foghorn Leghorn- White Leghorn Rooster, (yeah i know real original)
Buddy- White Silkie Rooster..My son's new favorite chicken
Sally- New Hampshire Red Pullet, was my son's favorite First chicken
Spindarella- Game Pullet
Red Dawn- Aseel Game Rooster, (Just found out he was a rooster)
FireFly- White laced Red Cornish Dont know yet if this one will be hen or rooster
Mike Tyson- Japanese Bantam Rooster (Believe me he came by this name honest)
Choclatini- Aeracauna Pullet
Olivia- Dark Brahma Bantam Pullet
Dove- Japanese Bantam Pullet
Sparrow- Japanese Bantam Pullet
Bunny- Light Brahma Bantam Pullet
Monica- Black Sex Link Pullet
