Chicken Names?

I'm letting my friend's four kids name eight of our chicks. Whether or not this is a good idea remains to be seen, but so far they have come up with Chicky, Cupcake, Yolkie, Duck, Goose and Charlotte. They are working on a few more. The comedian of the family came up with "Duck" and "Goose"! I love the name Charlotte, and am quite partial to Yolkie.

Yes, another punny name. It's a sickness, really.

(The rooster names seemed to come much easier than the hen names. We've got a really long list for the fellas.)

Mine are

Mabel
Gertie
Peanut
& Toad

LOL! Yes, I know the first 2 have regular names and the 2nd 2 don't......Got Mabel and Gertie first (2 golden comets a year old) then added 2 ISA Brown pullets (who are now 18 wks old) about 2 months later.

The 2 younger ones went without names for quite awhile, until I noticed that Peanut was the smartest of all 4 of them and became my favorite (my little peanut) Gertie is the Alpha hen and is noisey and mean! Mabel is sweet and Toad is DUMB! I guess I think toads are not so bright...lol. She is sweet but dumb as a box of rocks - maybe I should have named her Rocksy....

After letting them out to free range everyday for at least 4 months, Toad still (!) cannot figure out how to get out the door (a very large human size door). She doesn't pay attention to the others and gets freaked out when she realizes they are out and she is not. Then just paces and bangs her head/beak against the wire because she wants out - I have to physically go into the coop and shoo her out.........EVERYDAY!
