They sound like lovely chicken names! Shell less eggs often occur when a chicken has a calcium deficiency, so try boosting calcium in their diet by adding shell grit.

Have your other birds been pecking at her vent? Shell less eggs happen when pullets begin to lay, and older hens are slowing down OR because they are not getting enough calcium. Are your hens getting layer feed - it has the extra calcium and nutrients they need. You can also offer oyster shell in a separate dish for them. If they need it they will eat it.

our chickens are not on layer feed- is that bad?
they just started laying about 3-4 weeks ago and we had alot of grower feed left, so we did not buy layer feed.
