Chicken Netting or Airborn Preditor Management

My run is about 12x20 and, for the "roof" I'm using chicken wire I bought used and hanging old CDs off of it (who knew those AOL disks would be good for anything but coasters?). We live on a lake that's part of a huge wildlife preserve on the North American Flyway - we have resident and migratory bald and golden eagles, all kinds of hawks. My goal in having the chicken wire is that they can SEE the wire and the things hanging from it and decide it's not worth the trouble. I doubt chicken wire would keep out a determined eagle, but it'd make him think twice about it.

Eagles and hawks are protected here (not that I would shoot them if I COULD, even if it meant losing my chickens).

I just built a 12x25 run, and saw another post here where they used aviary netting from Seattle Marine. It wasn't super-cheap but its wasn't too expensive either. They have a website http://www.seattlemarine.net/Nets/index.html

I made a full chicken-wire roof on my run. Collects wet snow like crazy, but other than that it works great.
