I am interested in buying a small amount of land in Tippacano County IN. But I want to be able to raise a few laying hens on it. My parents had a farm when I was very young, but we moved to town when I was 12. But I remember the taste of good fresh eggs and the fun of having my own animals. Now I have a granddaughter that is 12 that lives with me and would love to let her experience the same. It just so happens that she loves chickens. Does anyone know where I can find out exactly where in this county I can raise chickens. Because where I live at the moment its not allowed.

Hello, it's nice to meet you! Once you decide what area you are interested in, contact the local government to find out what is allowed. Rules/laws vary a lot from one area to another. One thing you do not want to do is rely on a realtor to correctly identify what is ok...realtors know a lot but are not the best source of rules when it comes to poultry.
