Chicken Newbie Here

    Hi I live in Portland Oregon, and I have two chickens, a bared rock and Rhode Island Red.
    I have had them @ 1.5 Monthes. I kind of inherited them from friends,which I am thrilled about.....but have some questions about things going on.....I think having only two possibly creates some issues with hierarchy, but definitely suburban living, so I only want two right now. We have two dogs and a third temporarily living with us, though he may stay from time to time.

    Greetings from Kansas and [​IMG]. Pleased you joined us. Chickens are social creatures and a solo bird is a sad bird so it's good that you have two. I know I've read a ton of posts about people with only a pair of birds and they seem to get along okay. There is pecking order if there is two or twenty so I think your two will sort out who is the leader and the other who is less dominant. They should get along fine once this is determined.
