(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We are brand new to owning chickens. Neither of us have owned anything but dogs, cats, fish and 1 rabbit.

I searched for Backyard Chickens and this popped up.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love to listen to Audiobooks. My husband, Scott, has been enjoying woodworking lately. He's going to build our coop.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Scott and I have been married for 23 years. I'm a Realtor and Scott is a Helicopter Pilot in the Texas National Guard and is a Transportation Manager at HEB Grocery Store. We have two college age children still living at home, Jonathan is 20 and Sydney is almost 19. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats, all are rescues. We live on a little over a half acre in San Antonio (outside city limits). We got our chickens for several reasons. Mainly we wanted egg producing hens so we can have healthy eggs we know come from hens that are loved and well cared for. We do intend to start a garden in the spring. But first, chickens.

Rotor guys are a lot of fun... I was a FW maintainer in the AF, went to school with a bunch of rotor guys
