I've always been a DIY kind of guy. I've been looking at coop/run plans off and on for a couple of years and seriously for the last few weeks. I thought I had accumulated enough good ideas to start building. I was in the yard looking for a suitable location when I stumbled over an entirely new option.
I built this about 12 years ago, except for the occasional NERF war the boys haven't been near it in a couple of years. I was thinking about putting it on Craig's List "free to a good home, just get it out of my yard."
Overall its about 12' x 30' built of pressure treated lumber. The "Fort" is 5'x6'x5' to the bottom of the shingled roof. This could become a chicken coop virtually for free.

You could keep 3-4 birds in there.
Maybe a couple more depending on your climate, put your location in your profile.
Don't kid yourself that it'll be free tho ;) needs predator proof mesh installed(not chicken wire). A-frame and under fort/coop would be run area.

You could start a new thread here to document your progress and ask questions.
