Hey all!
My family and I have been wanting to get chickens for a while and unsure how to get started, we decided to go with Rent the Chicken, which we are finding out may have been a bad choice.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We had our chickens delivered in late April and was told that they would begin to lay within two weeks.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have 4 awesome chickens!
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have a New Hampshire Red, Silver Spangled Hamburg, Silver Laced Wyandotte and a Barred Rock.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
We love interacting with them but I think we would REALLY love the eggs if they would just start laying.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My husband and I have two daughters with another on the way. We have three dogs, a cat and a turtle as well.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Every time we went to search for chicken answers this site showed up!
