(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Our family is new to chickens. We just moved to a half acre and finally have space of our own. We have several friends and family members with chickens that we've been purchasing eggs from over the years, but it's inconsistent and I just don't like store-bought eggs. I am a Gardener and live to grow my own food. I'm excited to embark on adding chickens to or outdoor adventures.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 0, we are in the research phase and my hubby will need time to construct Something.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? My children love chickens. They've all attended farm school as preschoolers so they're excellent at handling them. They can't wait to have some of their own.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Gardening, homemaking, homeschooling
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have 4 children ages 12, 7, 6 and 4. All girls except the 7 year old. They are all made for farm life.
They are so excited to finally have some of their own chickens. We recently moved from apartment living into a good size property where we can enjoy much more time outdoors. The only pet we have is a beta fish. I'm a full time mom and part time homeschool mom. Looking forward to learning more and getting started with the chickees!
