Chicken Newbie

Hello all! I've been dreaming about keeping chickens for years, and now that we've finally bought a home, I've been working toward this for the past year and a half. I'm almost finished building my coop, although I'm not 100% happy with it. I'm in the market for chicks, and hope to pick some up at Tractor Supply this weekend or next. I've been doing lots of reading and research, but I'm sure I'm only "scratching" the surface. I'm eager to get to know folks on this forum, as everyone seems super helpful!

Congratulations on your home, your coop (it's almost impossible to be 100 percent happy because you NEVER know what your girls will do next to thwart your best coop plans) and your potential flock!

Folks here are very helpful. Just be aware: Chicken math is a real addiction, and too many of us here are in no position to help with that. I, for one, am thinking about how to remodel an old brooder coop so I can add more babies. They are SOOO cute when they're tiny.
