Chicken Newbie

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
The most recommended guidelines for coop size are 3.5-4 sq ft of space per bird in the coop not including the nest box space, 1 linear foot of roosting space with all roosts as close to 1 horizontal foot away from each other to prevent birds pooping all over the walls and each other, 1 nest box for every 4-5 birds, as close to 1 sq ft of permanently open ventilation per bird as you can manage, no opening into the coop greater than 1/2", never use chicken wire to secure your birds and 10 sq ft of space in the run per bird which should really be 15 sq ft as 10 just isn't enough IMHO.
If you are getting a sizeable flock, consider getting an old shed and converting it into your coop.
