Chicken Newbie

Laura here - Just got 6 chickens yesterday from a friend that raised them with her family. They were hatched at her sons kindergarten class. The unfortunate thing is that 4 of the 6 are roosters. I am teaming up with my neighbor to care for the chickens. So far it has been great! Excited to be on here and meet other "chicken" people cause I guess I'm one now too!! LOL

so you have 4 rooster and 2 hens well im very suprised the males arnt killing each other for the ladys maby its becouse they were raised together

maybe you could list the roosters on your local craig's list or if you are really desperate, sometimes, feed stores will take them.

Well, I don't think they have quite reached sexual maturity. They were born in the middle of April...we shall see how they fair. Not planning on keeping them around for long. All laying hens are the goal.
