Chicken Newbie

Hi! I don't have any chickens yet, but my hubby and I are currently looking for our new home in the country with 4-5 acres, with plans of getting chickens. My interests lie in having chickens as pets with eggs as a bonus. I'm an animal lover and can't wait for the right property to come up - we are ready!! I just came across this site and am thrilled with all the info and personal, firsthand experiences here. I believe in above par living conditions, treatment, and care of animals, with a chi-poo who can testify!
I look forward to getting to know others who share the same passions, and gaining any advice along the way!
