Hello folks, my name is Derek. In the group I go by the name Partner. I am a husband to one wife and a dad to 2 teenagers. We live in a typical middle class subdivision in Columbus GA. We are homesteaders at heart without the opportunity, yet. We have always wanted to be as self sufficient as possible but as you might expect, limited in ability with our current home sight. We are seriously contemplating on raising some chickens in the back yard. It is technically against city code, but my research indicates that the city doesn’t really care unless someone complains. We are devising some simple measures to avoid that. I joined this group to get advice on how to raise chickens since it’s a brand new venture for us. I look forward to communicating with you all.
