Chicken Nipples: Enough Water?

I think my chicks see me as chicken mom so when I wanted them to use the nipples, I acted like a chicken. I made my fist into a chicken head with my index finger as the beak. I went and pecked in the crumble feed and they all decided to peck too. Then I went to the new waterer and pecked at the nipple stem. Water came out and I pecked some more. They all came over and started packing when I stopped. When they'ed all had several pecks and seemed to be getting the hang of it, I took out the regular water dish and we never looked back.

Now as near adults, when it's real hot, I put a large planter tray out filled with water as a kind of swimming pool. They all have to have drinks before they play. I think novelty has something to do with that. At the end of the day the swimming pool is messy and half empty and the water bottles seem just as empty as usual, so they are using them when thirsty.
