chicken nipples

ordered mine from e-bay today. They should be here in 4-5 days.
I think i have the rest of the supplies to make a 5 gal gravity waterer.
Planning on using a 5 gal pail, with a run of pex supply tubing feeding a 2" pvc pipe with 5 nipples.
Will this work ok for 12 girls?
I got 10 nipples, but i plan on putting 5 in the coop, keeping the others for repairs, or should i put an extension in the run also?
Any tips on building this system?

According to where I bought mine, it was 1 nipple per 5-6 birds. I've seen 2-3 birds at the waterer taking turns. GL
