Hi everyone, I'm Steph. My boyfriend and I just bought a house and have agreed to raise some byc :) he's had chickens on a much larger scale; whereas I'm a totally noobie at this. Any tips & tricks to get started are more than welcome. TIA :D

If you decide to build a coop make sure it's predator safe and has good ventilation. Do you want chickens for meat, eggs, or just as a pet?

White leghorn hens lay the most eggs they lay white eggs. I have 6 golden laced wayandotts, one silver laced wayandott, and one barnevelder. They all will lay brown eggs. I really would like to get some ameracunas because they lay blue eggs. There are other breeds that will lay lots of eggs it just depends what kind of breed you want.

Welcome to the BYC flock! We are glad you joined us!
