Hey there! I've wanted my own chickens for a while, and i finally got my first batch of chicks from Meyers hatchery about 2 weeks ago. I got 5 light Brahmas, 5 buff Brahmas and 1 barred rock (as the freebie chick). Its been quite the adventure so far, i never realized just how fun the little chickies could be! I've grown quite fond of the little barred rock, who I've named "Spot". I'm hoping its a hen, but it was a freebie so who knows.

Anyways, glad to be a part of this community and look foreward to asking questions and learning as much as i can about these little feathered critters!

The PBR is called a meal maker. The intent is that you donate her eggs to the hungry. Unless mistakenly sexed at the hatchery, she's a pullet. PBRs are great chickens!
