Chicken not doing well, would like advice

I've put apple cider vinegar in her water for deworming.

She hasn't laid since maybe last Summer.

Her crop appears to be flat.

Here's a picture of her.

Does it matter if the Corid says "made for calves"?

Also we've fed her layer feed even after she stopped laying, we've switched her over to Purina Game Bird Maintenance Feed.

Sadly, ACV is not a dewormer. Getting a fecal float is always best, but if you feel she needs deworming, then use Fenbendazole (Safeguard) or Albendazole (Valbazen).

To treat most worms that poultry can have except for Tapeworm -

Safeguard dose is 0.23ml per pound of weight given orally once a day for 5 days in a row.

Valbazen dose is 0.08ml per pound of weight given orally once, then repeated in 10 days.

Corid for cattle is the correct thing. Follow the dosing I posted in #8.

The gamebird maintenance is bit low on protein. I'd aim for at least 16% for a chicken. You can give her egg, fish or meat to help boost protein if necessary, but when you run out of this feed, I'd switch to an all flock (18-20%) protein or even feed layer feed.

Can't giving layer feed to a non-layer cause visceral gout?

It could potentially do that.

You can always feed an all flock or chick starter - these have less Calcium than layer feeds do.

Contact your state vet laboratory and they will be able to give you all the information you need as well as regarding how to ship etc.

Until then keep her refrigerated (not freezer!) and wrapped in a clean plastic bag.
