Chicken not doing well

OP has another thread where she mentions seeing RED MITES.

Soap based insecticide only works 1) when the liquid comes in contact and 2) when it's a phosphate based detergent. It has no residual value. I agree that permethrin would be the best option. With the weakened system she has have you considered a vitamin deficiency? Adding something like nutri-drench may help to kick start her system and help get her back on track. A feed that's higher in protein and essential nutrients I also agree, maybe a starter until she's back to normal. Also the Ivermec will help prevent re-infestation once the mites are controlled. Good luck

Okay, so I put the proper dosage of fenbendazole on a scrap of bread and let her eat it, I will deworm the rest of the birds next week and deworm her again just to be safe in a little over two weeks. To make things less complicated I would have waited till I deworm the rest of the flock but for peace of mind I decided to do it a little while ago. I got a pic of her beak and also her oddly sticking out wing feathers I'll post in a bit. When I went in there she was acting like her normal spunky begging-for-food self, so that's a relief!

The very tip of her beak is gone when I went in there but really not a lot is missing and I expect it to grow back, but her beak seems to be very sensitive so I don't know if she's eating or using the nipple drinker. I'm pretty sure she's eating but she drank back and forth for like 5 minutes when I had a dish of water in there, which doesn't require her to put her beak up against anything. So I may have to not use nipple waterers right now, hopefully it'll go back to not hurting soon especially because she loves to train but can't take treats too well like that!

I have never had a chicken with a beak injury, but a broken off beak can have very sensitive nerve endings. Have you tried wet chicken feed in a deep bowl for her? Have you seen anymore tiny worms in her poop? I am just worried about tapeworms, and fenbendazole won’t treat those.

Haven't checked lately for worms. Tomorrow I'll wet some feed for her but first I'll watch to see if she eats and drinks normally, I hope she does as Wednesday we leave for a couple weeks.
