In the Brooder
So I am new to owning chickens, and got two chickens that are mixed rhode island red and black australorp. They are 8-9 months old and were laying eggs. One has seemed to settle in fine and within 2 days was laying eggs again, and has laid every day. The other girl laid one egg that we believe she may have had inside her and needed to lay from her previous home, but hasn't laid since. She seems to be eating, drinking, and pooping fine. She doesn't seem egg bound. It has only been a week, so I am not sure if she is still just stressed from the change or if there is another factor.
She is still adjusting to the change in environment. Given the relatively short day light period it may take a while for her to start a new laying cycle.
